In this helpful episode we explore some of the foundational principles around hearing God's voice for your own personal life. This is part one of a two-part topic, and next week we will get into some of the practicals of how you can grow your ability to hear him more clearly. Tune in and watch your relationship with the Lord go to the next level as you learn to hear his voice!
Below are some of my notes from the episode.
Believe God will speak to you.
It's child abuse for a parent to neglect their child by not speaking to them... God is not an abusive parent. He promises to speak to us!
John 10
Rick Warren "We often miss hearing God's voice simply because we aren't paying attention.
Ps. 32:8 I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye on you."
Jere. 33:3 "Call to me and I will answer you and show you great and unsearchable things you do not know."
I Sam 3:10 Samuel learning to hear God's voice.
There is a learning curve in hearing God's voice
Samuel - I Samuel 3
Gideon - Judges 6
It's part of our sonship!
Romans 8:14 Those who are sons of God are led by the spirit of God.
John 8:47 Whoever is of God hears what God says. The reason why you do not hear them is that you are not of God.
It's the example Jesus set for us
John 12:49 He speaks only what the father says
John 14:12 Will do greater works than he has done.
Eph 4- Jesus gave us the five fold ministers for the MATURING, growing, of the saints.
Safe guards in learning to hear his voice
Must always cooperate with the FULL counsel of God's word.
It will always produce the fruits of the Spirit. Gal. 5:22,23
It will always point people to Jesus
Is. 42:8 -I will not yield my glory to another
Will never instigate rebellion toward leadership.
God backs authority because they are established by him.
Even with hard or difficult leadership, we are to have a spirit of honor and submission, even if the time comes to leave their leadership.
